Del Mar
Del Mar offers world famous horseracing from July to September and has one of North County’s most popular beaches. Located North of Torrey Pines State Beach, Del Mar’s beach is perfect for surfers, families and tourists. Walking, surfing, swimming, body boarding and grunion hunting are some activities to enjoy. There are two seaside parks, Seagrove and Powerhouse, which are both great for stunning ocean views and picnicking. Also referred to as “Malibu South”, the community of Del Mar features expensive real estate, high-end boutiques, trendy cafes, restaurants and luxury hotels. One of the largest county fairs is held at the Del Mar Fair and runs from mid-June through July 4th and has games, exhibits, entertainment and carnival rides.
