			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In 2010, the San Diego County Fair will celebrate food with its theme, &#8220;Taste the Fun&#8221; — not just the food that fairs are famous for, but also the food that is part of our lives each and every day.</p>
<p>So mark your calendars for the 2010 San Diego County Fair — Friday, June 11, through Monday, July 5, closed three Mondays: June 14, 21 and 28. Information about the 2010 Fair will begin to be posted on this Web site starting in early 2010. Please check back.</p>

<li><a href="http://www.sdfair.com/fair/index.php?fuseaction=events.kids_day">Tuesday is Kids&#8217; Day!</a> Children 12 and younger are admitted free on Tuesdays, June 15, 22 and 29. (Admission for ages 6-12 other days is $7.00.)</li>

<p><strong>Save on parking!</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Free parking</strong>:  Park free every day at Horsepark, on the corner of Via de la Valle and El Camino Real, east of Interstate 5. The Fair&#8217;s free shuttle buses run from 9:00AM until midnight every day the Fair is open (1:00AM on Friday and Saturday), and drop you off in front of the O&#8217;Brien Gate. On weekends, we also have free park-and-shuttle lots at two additional off-site locations. Click the link above for more information.</li>
<li><strong>Ride the train or take the bus</strong>:  Amtrak and the Coaster stop at the Solana Beach station two miles from the Fair. North County Transit District (NCTD) shuttles run between the station and the Fair&#8217;s West Gate. From Escondido, take the NCTD express route with no stops between Escondido and the Fair. </ul>
<p><strong>Save on food!</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Bring your lunch</strong>: Yes, it&#8217;s allowed! No alcohol, glass containers or metal knives of any kind. All beverages must be in sealed containers (but you can bring an empty container, such as a sippy cup, to use once you&#8217;re past Security). We&#8217;ll even hold your lunch for you in Guest Services, first floor of the Grandstand, until you&#8217;re ready to eat at one of the designated picnic areas.</li>
<li><strong>Come on Taste of the Fair Tuesday</strong>. Every Tuesday (June 15, 22 and 29), you can buy $2.00 taste-sized portions of some of your favorite Fair foods, such as corn dogs, fudge, fish tacos and cinnamon rolls. Check at your favorite food booth to see what their offering is for Taste of the Fair Tuesday!</li>

<p>30th Year of Free Summer Music in Balboa Park</p>
<p>Summertime music and dance returns to Balboa Park on June 15, 2010. Twilight’s live music under the stars has been delighting visitors to the Park for 30 years, and programs range from military bands and Dixieland jazz to big band swing and Latin salsa. Concerts run through August 26, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. on the stage of the majestic Spreckels Organ Pavilion.</p>
<p>All of the San Diego-based performance groups showcase their talents to the community free-of-charge. These entertainers convey the unique and vibrant mix of San Diego’s musical diversity and include the 300th U.S. Army Band on June 29, highlighting inspiring military music, the popular Bayou Brothers exploring Cajun and Zydeco rhythms on June 16 and fabulous African and World Beat sounds of Damaru  on July 21. The Kearny Mesa Concert Band closes Twilight in the Park on August 26.</p>

<p>San Diego&#8217;s Seaport Village hosts the only Busker Festival in Southern California. We bring professionals from across the country to perform their bizarre talents from sword swallowing to knife throwing to pogo stick tricks and juggling on unicycles. Throughout the two-day festival, some of the nation&#8217;s top performers fill the bay front village drawing visitors to shop, dine and enjoy an entire day of one-of-a-kind entertainment.</p>
