Moonlight Beach
Moonlight State Beach is just a few blocks west of downtown Encinitas and offers some fine beach perks including picnic areas with tables, restrooms, fire rings, volleyball courts, public parking and lifeguards. The beach is flat, sandy and perfect for a day out.

Parking
There is a public parking lot above Moonlight State Beach which has enough spaces although it can fill up quickly during the summer. Arrive early, unless you are alright with parking on the street
Directions
Take the I-5 to Encinitas Boulevard and go west. Encinitas Boulevard turn into “B” Street, where the beach is located after crossing Highway 101. The parking lots have convenient loading and unloading zones which is great for families and children.
Tips
Moonlight State Beach is a favorite for families with kids. The beach is well monitored with lifeguards, has clean restrooms, outdoor showers and a nice playground. There is also a snack bar. If you want more privacy, walk north or south further along the beach.
