Solana Beach
Solana Beach is north of Del Mar and south of Cardiff by the Sea. It is a modest, residential beach community with uncrowded, family-friendly beaches. The cultural heart of Solana Beach is Coast Route 101, which there is also a mix of surf shops, hotels, arts and crafts galleries, grocery stores and restaurants.
Fletcher Cove Beach Park is a small beach with public parking, seasonal lifeguards and restrooms. The cove was constructed years ago by cutting out a portion of the bluffs with hydraulic water hoses and steam shovels. Recently, a 2-mile walking and biking bath was constructed on the east side of 101. The path offer a comfortable course. Safe from traffic, with benches to sit on and enjoy the unique flavor of the California beach community.
South Cedros Avenue is south of Lomas Santa Fe and east of 101. It is a mecca for antique and decorating shops which you’ll find imported and local crafts useful for home decorating.
Solana Beach is only minutes away from Del Mar Thoroughbred Club with horse racing from late July to early September.
